BIO+CV

“Every sound piece, audio visual, and lecture-performance becomes an opportunity to show how humans can shape technological systems that feel, relate and empathize. I urge audiences to reimagine futures where these systems move beyond structures built to extract, perpetuate bias, and oppress.” - ana roman

Ana Roman is a multidisciplinary creative technologist, workshop facilitator, and Sonic Arts teaching artist whose work sits at the intersection of generative arts, sonic cyberfeminism, and algorithmic bias. Their critical practice investigates the complex relationships between gender and technology, with a particular focus on Empathetic AI, avatarization, data rights, and the transformative impact of AI on human identity.

Ana has presented workshop performances and lectures at leading institutions including MIT Media Lab, NYU Tandon, NYU Clive Davis Institute, NYU ITP, Columbia University, California Polytechnic State University, and Berklee College of Music. As an active electronic music producer and DJ (Sonar Festival, Refraction Festival, DJ Magazine, Mix Mag), Ana continues to advance research in technological democratization and music technology innovation, most recently through the ongoing projects at Bogota Experimental Film Festival (Cinematic Bogota), DATLAB NYC (Hosted by Touchdesigner) and Creative Code Art NYC

I hope this message finds you well.

“....exposes the unsettling realities of deep fakes and surveillance culture, revealing the erasure of sex, democracy, and how it exposes collective trauma in our human landscape. Employing GAN faces and retina scans, the piece transforms the human form into a chilling embodiment of the techno-consensual era. Phenotype-faces merge into a single human entity that absorbs programmed emotions. Hypnotic eyes are wet with tech-gaze. Body-tech scans of the artist serve as reminders that we’re all unwilling subjects when we step outside. One can clearly sense the weight of political erasure, big money gaslighting, and the post-pandemic ‘shitification’ that underscores, numbs, and manipulates our thoughts and emotions. Ultimately, the message challenges and questions our perception of real human truths vs politico-digital manipulations merely disguised as manufactured proto-human aspirations.”

The Cybermami Suite

The CyberMami Suite is a new media video-piece plus limited edition track by skulptor (Ana Roman) that situates third-identity childhood, single motherhood, migration, and the remnants of lonesome machine love as entangled interfaces. These emerge as echoing sirens, surveillance, and protest-choreography straight from the guts of CDMX and Lower East Side concrete. The companion track stands as a sacred scream across timelines, distilled from generative rituals, Aphex-tinged hauntings, and the chrome thrum of a self-made CyberMami soldering her own sonic future. This diptych is not a product. It’s a portal. A prayer. An archive of erotic resistance.
